Notice of Application Period for Comprehensive Plan Amendments

City of Sedro-Woolley Planning Department

The City of Sedro-Woolley Planning Department hereby announces the commencement of the application period for Comprehensive Plan amendments. Interested parties are invited to submit proposals for amendments to the following elements of the Comprehensive Plan:

Land Use Element
Transportation Element
Economic Development Element
Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Element

Application Deadline:

All applications must be received by the Planning Department no later than 5:00 PM on March 17, 2023.

Application Process:

To apply for a Comprehensive Plan amendment, interested parties must submit the following:

A completed Application Form, available on the City's website or at the Planning Department office.
A Narrative Proposal that outlines the proposed amendment, the rationale behind the change, and any supporting documentation.
A Map or Sketch illustrating the proposed amendment.

Review and Approval Process:

Once the application period has closed, the Planning Department will review all submissions. The Planning Commission will then hold a public hearing to consider the proposed amendments and make recommendations to the City Council. The City Council will ultimately make the final decision on whether or not to approve the amendments.

Purpose and Scope of Comprehensive Plan Amendments:

The Comprehensive Plan is a guiding document that sets forth the City's long-range vision and goals for land use, transportation, economic development, and community amenities. Comprehensive Plan amendments are intended to:
